NCFC - About

About

North Channel Food Co-op is a community based food buying group run by volunteers on St Joseph Island.

With a mission to source, share, and secure a sustainable food network along the north channel, we aim to support local, sustainable food production, to produce less waste through bulk purchasing, and to promote community awareness on these issues.

We open our membership to those in the area who have an interest in helping to grow our co-op by building a community centred on doing better by the environment and sourcing nutritious, whole foods in bulk for reasonable prices. We strive to source locally and support community partners with the same mission.

Food orders will be scheduled throughout the year and updates, along with ordering instructions, will become available through our mailing list and facebook page. To date, companies we plan to order from include Arva Flour Mill, Mountain Path Organic and Natural Food, Camino, St. Joseph Island Coffee Roasters, and Ontario Natural Food Company. We look forward to expanding our order base and welcome any suggestions of companies that members might be interested in ordering from.
